Earthlings at the Ship Croydon

"Earthlings" The Movie for Adults only.

9th September 2012 6pm on wards

The Ship still my favourite Croydon pub

The Ship is a small pub in the middle of Croydon and a true Croydon landmark, having been virtually unchanged for the better part of nearly a century.

Historically, the earliest brewery records for The Ship date back to 1640! The building, in its basics, is from that date. Here’s something else which is good: it was called The Shippe but has never had any association with the sea or boats. The reason for the name is that shippe was an old colloquial way of writing Sheep. So it was called The Sheep. ........

And of my history It must of been late 1978 after seeing The Dammed in the Greyhound and me a young 20 year old getting beaten up outside Millets opp the ship, Oh how it all adds to the melody of life. Music at the SHIP I remember the smokey nights of Real Beer, Real music,  sawdust and a lively atmosphere. Even the bad times were good,
But now I choose another way.......

VEGETARIAN / VEGAN FOOD IS GOOD FOR EVERYONE even if you are not eating it, it can Save the planet this dying planet, Save Cruelty, Save suffering as shown in the film EARTHLINGS, promote health, even wealth. Their Lives Your choice.

Your life your Choice.

Check it out on Youtube if you cant see it at the Ship "EARTHLINGS" a hard film to watch.

See you there

Great holidays for all peoples from around the world

Bring your body in to the line it wishes to walk along.

So many people think they can rule their body through diets and pills they are wrong!!
When we take time to listen and to value our bodies and be at peace with our digestive system and give our bodies the nutrition it really enjoys,
we find ourselves coming into Harmony with ourselves.
Your mind should not rule your body your mind needs to be in harmony with your body and Spirit,

Mind, Body and Spirit are a team, treat each part with equal honor!

These holidays or detox days sound great to me, I have not been at this time, but they hold a few of the important values that I hold dear to life.

Friends check out their website           WWW.HARMONY.HR
you may well find it to your liking.

A quote from Vesna (from www.Harmony.hr )
''Discover the harmony in your own being.
Embrace it.
If you can do this, you will gain everything,
and the world will become healthy again.''
If you go, send me a postcard I wont be disappointed....................... Paul

Raw food is so easy Cut Toss Serve. Chad Sarno

cabbage avocado salad with hemp and coriander

cabbage avocado salad with hemp and coriander

By Chad Sarno

Serves four

* 6 cups finely-shredded cabbage (mix of purple and green)
* 1/4 cup red and yellow peppers, diced
* 1 1/2 avocadoes, diced
* 3 tablespoons hemp oil (or flax oil)
* 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
* 2 tablespoons red onion or leek, diced
* 1/4 cup hulled hemp seeds
* 3 tablespoons loose coriander leaves
* 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

In a mixing bowl toss all ingredients together, squeezing as you mix to 'wilt' the cabbage and cream the avocado. Serve immediately.

As a variation, add chopped fresh herbs or your choice of diced vegetables. This dish works equally well if you substitute the cabbage for kale, chard or spinach. Note: Toss right before serving to retain crispness.

This recipe appeared in the Spring 2008 issue of Get Fresh! magazine.

Sweet aromatic and Tasty

Blueberies are not the only fruit.

When tomatos are in season in England and in the greenhouse  Tomato's can give most fruits a run for its money.

Cherry Tomato's on the vine are so sweet aromatic and Tasty.

Tomato stuffed with Raspberry or Blueberry gives a pleasent twist to the fruit pudding.

Try it you might like it a lot!!

New Mexico Wildfire Now a Record-Setting ‘Megafire’

New Mexico Wildfire Now a Record-Setting ‘Megafire’ 216,000 acres

The largest wildfire in New Mexico’s history continues to burn, having already charred an area larger than New York City. Known as the Whitewater-Baldy Fire Complex, the wildfire has become another in a series of “megafires” to torch the American West due to an unprecedented combination of drought conditions, climate change, and alterations in land-management practices. To make matters worse, according to The Guardian newspaper, congressional budget cuts may restrict the federal government’s firefighting efforts during what is widely expected to be a busy wildfire season.

Firefighters work burnout operations at the Gila National Forest. Credit: U.S. Forest Service.

The Whitewater-Baldy Complex is burning in New Mexico’s rugged and mountainous Gila Wilderness, an area with steep terrain that has rendered much of the fire off limits to firefighters. Instead of attacking it from within, firefighters are trying to dig in around it, hoping to slow its spread.
The megafire is the result of a merger of two separate, relatively modest-sized fires. When the two merged in late May, the fire dramatically expanded, burning 70,000 acres in just one day. As of Friday, the fire had burned 216,000 acres, and was only 10 percent contained. More than 1,200 personnel were battling the fire. There have been no fatalities or major injuries

Whole life Food

Gaining that extra smile.
In March at "2EDEN INCREDIBLE LUNCH" we were joined by a lovely lady through the Vegetarian Society who is a "convenience" vegetarian, in other words she enjoyed prepared food.
This convenient type of eating habit which we all indulge in at times, can lead to a weight concern and can develop into dull unhealthy and expensive Vegetarian food.
We know prepared food of all types is generally more expensive, less healthy and more refined more processed, when compared with fresh self prepared and cooked food.
We know vegetarian food is not always healthy, it can be spoilt by over adding sugar, salt, over cooking, frying, etc, etc but we advise healthy.
she wanted to know more, she wanted help with advice while shopping, preparing vegetables, choosing cheeses, storing good food, both cooked and uncooked. She wanted to know menu planning, plate portioning, balancing sweet and sour, dividing savoury and sweets.

She wanted to know how to cook with confidence.
As she was out of our area we connected her with our friends in Redhill who are meeting her needs and providing fellowship and she is gaining the confidence that takes us from the boring B road and puts us all on the A road to life.
Can we help you gain that extra smile?
Cookery on demand if you need it we can supply it.
