A CHILDRENS STORY BY ME December 2013
Tommy wanted to fly
Tommy wanted to be a letter
It was a very windy day the wind knocked the
postman off his feet and the letters swiftly
flew out of the postman's hand and scattered along the Path all dirty and
scruffy. This put Tommy off of being a letter as he liked the idea of flying
but not of being scruffy and dirty.
Then when he looked up, he saw an aeroplane made by
men that was in the control of a pilot flying straight making a lot of noise coming
from one side of the sky going to the other side of the sky with a big white
line behind it, which someone told Tommy was for the owner of the aeroplane to
pull it back when it gets too far away. Tommy thought that was a good idea, very
cunning and crafty, it was in case the wind got too fast and the aeroplane was
lost like the leaves.
Then the plane flew out of sight and all Tommy could
see was the white line in the sky
and Tommy thought of his time in Sabbath class
when the teacher told all the children about Jesus coming down out of heaven to
be with us on this earth. Tommy thought about Jesus in heaven and how he crossed
that white line and came down to Earth. Jesus made up His mind to save all
people on the earth, now that is love and Tommy liked to be loved.
He thought how some children are like the postmans
letters, they look important and are held closely by someone yet that someone
let them go and they fell to the ground or children are like the leaves being tossed
to and fro which had great fun seemingly without a care in the world then
disappeared out of sight or like the aeroplane that the man had told him was tied
to the line.
Yet Tommy choose to follow Jesus so that he could grow
in the love of Christ and one happy day Tommy would cross that white line in the
sky and be with Jesus in heaven, but not yet..... as Tommy had much to read in
his Bible that he did not understand .
So he opened his King James Version of the Bible, he turned
to Ephesians 4 v 14-15 and read
Ephesians 4 14That we henceforth
be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they
lie in wait to deceive; 15But speaking
the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even
Christ: KJV.
And Tommy
thought “Love you Jesus”.
